Taking the first step toward support is brave. Here’s what to expect as we work together toward lasting change.
Taking the first step is often the hardest. Contact us to schedule an initial consultation where we can discuss what's bringing you to therapy.
In our first session, we'll explore what you're experiencing, your goals, and determine the best approach for your unique needs.
Together, we'll create a collaborative treatment plan with clear goals tailored to what you want to achieve.
We'll regularly revisit your goals and progress, adjusting our approach as needed while you develop lasting tools for wellbeing.
Begin your journey now, or simply find the judgment-free space to ask the questions you’ve got in mind, without any commitment.
I utilize several evidence-based approaches including EMDR, TF-CBT, CBT, DBT, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. During our initial sessions, we’ll discuss what you’re experiencing and your goals, and I’ll recommend the approach that best fits your needs. You don’t need to know which modality you need before starting—that’s part of what we’ll figure out together.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is particularly effective for processing trauma and distressing memories. If you’re struggling with past traumatic events, PTSD, or memories that feel “stuck,” EMDR can help your brain reprocess these experiences in a way that reduces their emotional impact. I’m specially trained in EMDR for both civilians and first responders.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It’s especially helpful for anxiety and depression, teaching practical skills to identify and change unhelpful thought patterns. It’s structured, goal-oriented, and provides tools you can use independently after therapy ends.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. It’s particularly helpful if you experience intense emotions, difficulty managing stress, or challenges in relationships.
This approach focuses on your strengths and what’s already working, rather than dwelling on problems. It’s ideal if you’re dealing with a specific situation or crisis and want practical, goal-oriented support in a shorter timeframe.
Our first session is about getting to know each other and understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss what you’re experiencing, your goals, and any immediate concerns. I’ll ask questions about your history, current symptoms, and what you hope to achieve. This assessment helps me recommend the best approach for your unique situation. There’s no pressure—this is your time to see if we’re a good fit.
This varies based on your needs and goals. Some clients find relief with brief, solution-focused work over a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll regularly check in about your progress and adjust as needed. You’re always in control of the pace.
